USDA said that spring wheat planting in the six key states as of April 16 was at 13%, which is behind the five-year average of 21%. South Dakota is the only state of the six listed that is ahead of average.

The Renewable Fuels Association asked U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt to keep corn ethanol on target in the upcoming Renewable Fuel Standard volumes.
July corn was down 1 3/4 cents, July soybeans were down 4 1/2 cents, and July Chicago wheat was down 1 3/4 cents.
Look for lean hog issues to open moderately higher, supported by follow-through buying and bottom-picking interest. The cattle complex is geared to begin with mixed prices thanks to residual selling and short-covering.
